There are lots of great small festivals in the UK, so why should you come to Big Love? What can you expect to find? What makes us different from other ’boutique’ festivals?
For starters, the festival takes place in-and-around a large Victorian mansion, in 120 acres of grounds, in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.
Inside the Mansion
The Music Room
Shhh, don’t tell everyone but we’ve taken over the ornate music room of the mansion for debauched parties till dawn all weekend. Will you be swinging on the chandeliers…?
The perfect location for a rave, this is the largest stage at the festival, and has played host to the likes of hip-hop legend KRS-One and DJ Mr Scruff.
The Social Club
Our on-site social club, deep in the heart of the mansion, is the perfect place for a late night disco till 5am, complete with a state of the art hi-fi system and bar.
If the array of award-winning street food we’ve got doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can also dine in style in the mansion’s oak-panelled dining room, where a range of traditional and contemporary meals are on offer, at pub prices.
Why not escape the mayhem and enjoy a pint of ale and a packet of pork scratchings in our in-house country pub, complete with horse brasses and dart board.
The Swimming Pool & Sauna
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the hotel’s indoor swimming pool, sauna and showers. Yes, free, indoor showers! Swimming pool and facilities open at hotel’s discretion, check notice board for hours.
Pop by for the poolside party, with DJs playing some quality tunes till the early hours. This year, it’s going all aquatic…
There are a very limited number of hotel rooms and dorms available in Baskerville Hall for the duration of the festival. See See hotel availability.
Outside the Mansion
Come and say hello to your Camp Entertainment team, led by Gladys, who’ll be meeting and greeting around the lawn and camp sites. Sign yourself up for organised fun throughout the weekend, but expect the unexpected – anything from hula-hooping lessons to tug-of-wars, to stampeding Fully Blown Riders. Be careful if Gladys challenges you to a game of croquet though – she cheats!
The Main Stage
NEW FOR 2019 is our main outdoor stage, with live music from lunchtime till 10pm each day. Perhaps even more importantly it’s right next to our cocktail bar, which will be dishing out freshly-made cocktails at £5 a pop! We’re expecting good weather, but even if it takes a turn for the British, you can still watch the top music here under cover from the sides.
The U & I Radio Stage and Chill-out Tent
NEW FOR 2019 This year we’ve invited U & I Radio back to host a stage in our beautiful new chill-out marquee. U & I Radio will be presenting their pick of emerging and unsigned artists, along with a few old favourites, with live music from lunchtime till 10pm each day.
If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise…
Baskerville Hall sits in 120 acres of grounds, much of it woodland, so we had to make use of the lovely woods behind the mansion.
Expect pop-up raves and secret discos, mirror balls in the trees, amazing light shows, and DJs playing from lunchtime till dark. Make sure to bring some sturdy shoes and a some glow sticks!
Just follow the call of the disco ball…!
Food lovers are well catered for at Big Love (excuse the pun), with a carefully selected range of award-winning international street food vendors selling some amazing food.
Rest assured there will be a broad selection of top-notch grub, including plentiful vegetarian and vegan options. And some great coffee.
NEW FOR 2019 – we’ll have some banging tunes playing to keep your toes tapping as you chomp!

The Camp Fire
Warm you toes, toast your marshmallows and tell tall tales around our camp fire once the sun goes down. NEW FOR 2019 This year we’ve got some lovely social seating for the fire pit.
Bedouin tents (NEW FOR 2019), luxury bell tents and affordable bell tents are all available for those of you that don’t like the hassle of setting up camp. From £55 per person for the 3 nights.
The general camp sites are within a couple of hundred metres from the car parking (at most – arrive early and you’ll be able to park even closer). Probably the prettiest camp sites at any festival.
NEW FOR 2019 We’ve expanded the traders and moved them outside, to a dedicated area next to the street food.
