May 2021 update

We just wanted to post a quick update on how things are progressing towards Big Love 2021.

Like a lot of you, we’re keeping a close eye on the situation with the Indian COVID-19 variant; the impact it has is likely to be the key thing that decides whether or not June’s relaxing of restrictions take place, and whether Big Love can go ahead in July.

We are really encouraged by the latest figures though, showing Wales has recorded no new coronavirus deaths and just 19 new cases – the lowest daily number since August 2020. The percentage of COVID tests coming back with a positive result is 1%, significantly below the government’s key benchmark of 5%.

Amazingly, over a million adults in Wales – 40.4% of the adult population – have now had both doses of vaccine, and 83.45% of adults have had at least one dose! Go Wales!

Right now we’re still cautiously optimistic about going ahead. The production team had a long meeting yesterday to go over our plans, and we can’t wait to show you some of the incredible new things we’ve got lined up for you!
